Community Counseling & Wellness in the Community
Community Counseling & Wellness Encourages Mindfulness Through Creative Expression
The Community Counseling & Wellness (CCW) Program continues to empower individuals across our communities by providing engaging activities that promote emotional wellness and healthy coping skills.
Recently, CCW staff hosted a bubble painting activity with participants in Willacy County, combining creativity with mindfulness. During the activity, participants practiced slow, controlled breathing as they blew bubbles onto paper to create colorful artwork. This simple yet meaningful exercise helped reinforce breathing techniques that can be used to regulate emotions during stressful situations and manage anxiety-inducing thoughts and feelings.
Creative wellness activities like bubble painting offer more than just a fun experience—they provide practical tools that participants can use in their everyday lives to reduce stress, increase self-awareness, and build emotional resilience.
At Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas, the Community Counseling & Wellness Program is committed to promoting mental wellness by equipping individuals with healthy coping strategies, fostering resilience, and creating supportive spaces where community members can learn, connect, and thrive.
Together, we are building healthier communities—one mindful breath at a time.
