Intervention Divisional Director

Job Description:

  • Oversees, administers, and directs the administrative functions of the assigned programs to ensure compliances with all agency policies and contract requirements.
  • Reviews, monitors, and reports out program specific data documented in monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Conducts quality reviews to evaluate effectiveness of services, program goals/outcomes, and adherence to statement of work.
  • Conducts staff training and departmental meetings with program staff to provide support.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $57,000.00 per year

Program Director

Job Description:

  • Conducts prevention education/skills training strategy by implementing the “Positive Action” curriculum at designated school sites and/or community sites as indicated by the curriculum developers.
  • Provide problem identification and referrals to other support services to youth participating in curriculum services.
  • Conducts information dissemination strategy by providing minors and tobacco presentations to youth and adults. Conducts prevention presentations that include minors and tobacco information. 
  • Conducts information dissemination strategy by providing Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) presentations to youth and adults.

Public Relations Coordinator

Job Description:

  • Promote and coordinate regional trainings and provide technical assistance in hosting trainings,
  • Network utilizing diverse communication formats (in-person, email, mail, social networks).

Office Assistant

Job Summary

BHS is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Assistant to assist with the day-to-day operations to ensure that the offices run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, be proactive, and take initiative in managing multiple task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains inventory of office supplies and anticipates supply needs; ensures prompt delivery of supplies to offices as needed.
  • Supports in the management of internal requests, incoming shipments, and unboxing of shipments to distribute accordingly.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting failures, calling for repairs, monitoring equipment operation.
  • Schedules routine maintenance of agency vehicles

Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or office support role,

Community Health Worker (Harlingen)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach and networking efforts that directly impact the target population, who reside in the service area, of the program to include (a) conducting presentations targeting individuals with a history of trauma, use substances, experiencing mental health concerns and who are at high risk for developing behavioral health conditions (b) raise awareness of program services (c) have readily accessible resources/referrals for those participants needing support and (d)provide the appropriate screening to identify high risk and intervention.
  • Screen individuals identified during outreach or referred to the program to initiate supportive services and or provide referrals as needed. At a minimum use screening tools will be used for adverse childhood experiences and social determinants of health.
  • Facilitate appropriate interventions, referral needs, and support services. Align, as appropriate, the use of the two evidence-based curriculums used by the program.
  • Visit participants and families in the most appropriate locations for the participants such as public areas such as libraries, community centers, churches, the office, or via home visits to explain supportive services and resources available

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience working in social services, networking with social service agencies, or working with at risk populations in the community or schools.
  • Traveling required within the service area.
  • Current TX driver’s license, reliable transportation, & liability insurance.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Community Health Worker (Pharr)

Coalition Coordinator

Job Description:

  • Make personal contact with organizations to identify opportunities to conduct information dissemination activities to include presentations and alternative activities; go to locations where members of the target population gather and collaborate with agencies in or near the locations; participate in health fairs; conduct diverse/cultural and linguistically appropriate activities with youth, parents, community members
  • Establish partnerships with community organizations to increase coalition support and membership.
  • Schedule and conduct presentations in support of environmental strategy/applicable laws/ prevalence rates to gain community buy-in, utilize the strategic plan and sustainability plan to ensure implementation of effective and efficient environmental evidence-based prevention strategies.
  • Establish MOUs with school and community sites who agree to serve on an epidemiological workgroup; gather quantitative and qualitative data to create a thorough needs assessment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Sociology or equivalent

Prevention Specialist/Coalition Specialist

Job Description:

  • Conducts prevention education/skills training strategy by implementing the designated curriculum at school sites and/or community sites.
  • Provide successful referrals to treatment and other support services to youth participating in curriculum services.
  • Conduct information dissemination activities by implementing stand alone, age-appropriate ATOD presentations that increase knowledge or create awareness to the State’s four prevention priorities.
  • Collaborate and actively engage with each identified partner agency to enhance community awareness and mobilization around the negative effects of substance use and behavioral health.
  • Implement the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) strategies: Education; Information Dissemination; Alternatives.
  • Develop list of service providers and social service agencies in the community, to include location, hours of operation, services, and availability of culturally and linguistically appropriate staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology/Sociology or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of participants/professionals in English and Spanish.
  • Some travel required within service area and must have current TX driver’s license with current liability insurance

Recovery Supervisor

Job Description:

  • Supervise the assigned teams of recovery coaches by (a) Conducting monthly/weekly team and individual meetings to reinforce and review program goals and objectives. (b) Oversee the daily work schedules and completed duties by program staff. (c) Provide support as needed across teams to ensure recovery support services are being rendered in accordance to the program contract.
  • Prepares reports in collaboration with team members and submits reports, including status reports, to the Divisional Director within required timelines. Assists quality efforts by providing access and gathering documents related to program outputs.
  • Monitors the program outputs to ensure efforts are on track towards meeting contract goals and outcomes.
  • Apply outreach and networking efforts that directly impact the target population of the program to include (a) conducting presentations targeting individuals with a history or current use of substances and needing support services. (b) develop and disseminate project related information and material to target population and identified providers, caregivers, and family members.

Program Specialist

Job Description:

  • Apply outreach and networking efforts in the hub region to increase the awareness and utilization of the statewide overdose reversal medication distribution and overdose prevention and response training programs, including among businesses, providers, healthcare services (e.g., EMS, emergency rooms), educational institutions, and individuals.
  • Fulfill all in-person overdose reversal medication orders received on a timely manner, that meets contract requirements, upon request.
  • Provide approved virtual or in person overdose response and prevention training to all individuals who received overdose reversal medication in-person from the hub, including collection of pre/post test scores for each trained individual.
  • Provide approved fentanyl awareness and education to requesting individuals and educational institutions in the hub region, including collection of pre/post test scores for each trained individual.
