π Building Awareness, Inspiring Hope. π
Last week, our PADRES Program was honored to host two free community presentations in recognition of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Awareness Monthβone presented in English and one in Spanishβto ensure more families and community members had access to this important information.
We were privileged to welcome Dr. Ramiro Caballero from South Texas Health System, who shared his expertise and provided valuable insight into Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome from a medical perspective. His presentation helped attendees better understand NAS, its effects on newborns, and the importance of education, early intervention, and compassionate care.
Participants also learned more about the services offered through our PADRES Program, including education, prevention, community outreach, and resources available to support parents and families.
In addition, a member of our Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas team presented on Recovery and Treatment, emphasizing that recovery is possible and highlighting the resources and support available for individuals and families on their journey toward healing.
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the City of Pharr Police Department for their partnership and support in helping make these community events possible. Collaborations like these strengthen our collective efforts to educate, connect, and empower our community.
Thank you to everyone who attended, our guest speakers, and our community partners for helping us raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support healthier futures for families throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Together, we can make a differenceβone conversation at a time. π
