P.A.T.H. Conference 2026

Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas was proud to participate in the Prevention Awareness Team of Hidalgo County (PATH) Conference, a collaborative event that brought together more than 250 professionals, educators, law enforcement personnel, healthcare providers, parents, and community organizations from across the Rio Grande Valley to strengthen prevention efforts.

The conference provided an important opportunity to educate professionals and community members on current issues impacting youth, including substance use prevention, mental health awareness, and strategies for fostering healthy, resilient communities. Through the sharing of knowledge, evidence-based practices, and community collaboration, attendees explored ways to strengthen prevention efforts and provide consistent support to young people throughout the region.

A highlight of the conference was the active participation of Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas staff as presenters. Jacqueline Garcia, Community Counseling and Wellness Program Director, presented to more than 250 attendees on “The Influence of Social Media on Teen Substance Use.” Her presentation explored the powerful role social media can play in the lives of young people and the importance of understanding its potential influence on attitudes, behaviors, and substance use. By sharing her expertise with professionals and community members, Jacqueline helped spark meaningful conversations about prevention, awareness, and supporting youth in today’s digital world.

BHS was honored to have members of its team share their knowledge and expertise throughout the conference, highlighting the innovative prevention, education, and community-based work taking place across the Rio Grande Valley. Their engagement as presenters contributed to meaningful discussions and reinforced the importance of collaboration among organizations and professionals working to create healthier communities.

Held on Wednesday, July 29th and Thursday, July 30th, at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance, the PATH Conference brought together hundreds of individuals committed to learning, collaboration, and strengthening prevention efforts. Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas was proud to be part of this impactful event and looks forward to continuing its work alongside community partners to support youth, families, and communities throughout the region.
