PADRE participants graduate from Hidalgo County Boot Camp

In mid-November we had the honor and privilege of attending the graduation of three participants in our PADRE (Parenting Awareness and Drug Risk Education) and Believe in Change (Youth Recovery Community) Programs.

They came to us from the Hidalgo County Judge Mario E. Ramirez, Jr. Juvenile Justice Center Boot Camp Facility. As part of the Boot Camp program, cadets are offered a military structured program that addresses self-discipline, mental health issues, and educational needs. Being fathers or soon-to-be fathers, these three cadets were also paralleled into our PADRE program where they focused on strengthening communication skills, parenting and bonding, and making healthy lifestyle choices.

We are proud to announce the three graduating cadets have benefited immensely and have chosen to remain in our PADRE program to continue working on being the best fathers they can be! If you would like to learn more about the PADRE program, please call Patrick Martinez at (956) 787-7111, ext. 226 or email pmartinez@bhsst.org
