First Narcan Vending Machine in the Rio Grande Valley
Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas, in collaboration with Be Well Texas, is proud to announce the installation of our first-ever Narcan vending machine right here in the Rio Grande Valleyβ one of only a few across the entire state of Texas. π
Located at the Hidalgo County Adult Probation Office, this life-saving resource is accessible to everyone β completely free of charge. “This initiative represents a vital step forward in protecting our community and saving lives. The accessibility of Narcan ensures that help is available when every second counts. Opioid overdose can affect anyone, and we recognize that accidental exposure to fentanyl poses a serious and growing threat. We are honored to stand with our community and partner organizations in taking proactive measures to address this public health crisis through awareness, accessibility, and care.” – Faustino Lopez III, Director of Hidalgo County Community Supervision and Corrections Department.
Narcan, also known as naloxone, can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and save lives in moments that truly matter.
This initiative is part of Behavioral Health Solutions and Be Well Texas ongoing commitment to life-saving support, awareness, and compassion β ensuring that help is always within reach for anyone in need.
Together, weβre taking action, reducing stigma, and building a safer, healthier Rio Grande Valley. π
